Getting my site up today finally. The gallery's still under construction, especially in the "paintings & illustrations" category, but this gives me something to work on over the coming months. In addition to giving the public a glimpse into my personal creative world and showing my commercial work to prospective clients, the tertiary goal of this website is simply to motivate the completion of more projects. As with many creatives, new ideas pop up for me daily. They compete aggressively for attention and lure me away from current projects with their sparkly, novel appeal. The result is thousands of hours worth of incompleted works languishing in piles around the house or on my hard-drive. In my dementia, I reason that if my creative life goes public, I won't be able to get away with this nonsense anymore. As my Japanese heritage has informed me, the fear of public shaming can be a strong motivator.

Sadly, I don't expect to finish my novel anytime in the next few weeks. I would like to finish a short story or two, however. I have a few in the works already (loosely science fictional). Although I don't plan to post entire literary works on this site (as that would limit future publication options), I will keep you all apprised of my progress in that arena. The reason I discuss my writing projects at all on this site is that I intend to to bring my art and stories together in future projects. My illustrated stories for Kino's Systematic Strangulation graphic novel are an initial foray into this format. I'll post some of this work soon.

With respect to my painting, I'm poised now for a new stage of experimentation, building on some of the themes and techniques I've developed in the past few years. I don't know where this will go, but I look forward to the ride as always. As Bucky Fuller once said: "Dare to be naive."

Thank you all for visiting!
